Here are a few answers to questions I get very often. I hope this is helpful. If there is a question I have not addressed, or if clarification is needed about an answer please click here to submit your question, or contact me personally.

Q:  Is there a tuition fee?

A:  This is a tuition-free program for students not enrolled in the under-graduate or graduate degree levels. For tuition-free students, the costs are only for the study guides. The price of study guides are dependent upon current printing and shipping costs. Typically, student costs of study guides average $12.00 each. The Apologetics II study guide and the Book of Jeremiah study guide may be a little more.

Q.  We will not have students taking courses for credit, can we still be certified as a satellite school?

A.  Absolutely. Many of our schools consist of only students who are taking courses at the audit level.

Q:  Can I earn both my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees?

A:  Yes. However, some states prohibit long-distance learning institutions from issuing degrees. You may need to contact your state's department of education for the rules concerning degree programs.

The degree program is a religious degree focused on biblical studies and Christian ministry. Our degree program is designed to equip students to teach the whole counsel of God, and to effectively participate in a variety of ministry applications.

Students who complete the bachelor's degree program (BBS) from SIBI earn the standard bachelor's level of 128 to 132 hours (or a minimum of 40 courses) in Bible and ministry related subjects. These subjects include the entire Bible, Greek, communications, Biblical Counseling, missions, evangelism, leadership, church growth, preaching, discipleship, prayer, Bible doctrine, and much more.

Q: How is the instruction delivered to the class?

A:  The class is guided by the administrator who facilitates the courses that are taught by SIBI instructors. The courses taught by the SIBI instructors have been video recorded from Sunset's professional video studio. Each presentation is about 28 minutes in length. After the viewing of the lesson, the administrator follows with a period of discussion and instruction.

Q: How many students constitute a satellite school?

A:  There is no set number of students to constitute a class in order to qualify as a satellite school.

Q:  How long does it take to finish the program?

A:  It depends on the pace and level of study. For instance, a class made up of audit students will study at a faster rate than students who are studying for credit.

Q: Must administrators be certified?

A:  Yes. In order for a school to advance from the Affiliated status to Certified status the Administrators must be certified. There are additional requirements for Certified status which can be researched through the Satellite School Handbook found under Resources of this website, or by clicking the above URL.

Q: When is the best time to conduct classes?

A:  Each satellite school is unique. Some conduct classes during an evening of the week. Others have conducted day-time classes. Whatever you decide, you need to devote at least one hour per lesson

Q: Is this only a preacher-training program?

A:  No. While many are trained to study and preach, this program is designed to meet the spiritual needs of all members of the church. The residual benefits of these courses are too numerous to count.

Q: Can these courses be taken online?

A:  Yes. To get all the information about how to enroll and the costs involved, click here.

Q: What do you get with a satellite school package?

A:  The full package includes seventeen 24-lesson DVD courses; eighteen 12-lesson DVD courses; two 16-lesson DVD courses; three audio 24-lesson CD courses; and one study for each course. There is a total of 40 courses.

Q:  How much does it cost?

A:  If the full package is purchased, your cost is $6,200.00 plus shipping and handling. This is a savings of $1,079.60. Otherwise, the cost of the package, if set up on a payment plan is as follows:

12-month installment with $400 down payment = $500.00 per month
24-month installment with $384.00 down payment = $259.00 per month
